BRIEF
Create the concept and design for fundraiser marketing materials. The MBEP event included a live-stream concert with a ska band, Upside Ska. and a screening of a documentary about the bay. The challenge for me was to create a design that unified the bay and the band. To do this, I used branded colors and combined imagery of the bay and the band. I chose to use inspiration from vintage ska posters, but combine that style with silhouette elements to unify the imagery. To add some whimsy, I turned a photo of the band into a ska style silhouette, and perched an illustrated sandpiper (native to the California bay) on the shoulder of one of the musician’s. The final product was a poster, plus an Instagram post and Facebook event banner.
