Arp howard counseling PROJECT: This logo was inspired by the client's concept about clarity coming out of chaos, and the family as being like birds in a nest. The bird imagery was derived from the swifts coming out of the chimney at Chapman School in Portland. The color blue used for "counseling" suggests the sky, and is a calming color. Both the color and imagery help the logo fit into the field of counseling, and the typography and style keep it fresh and contemporary. The goal with the favicon was to keep it legible at a small scale, but still incorporate the most important elements from the logo-lockup.

Burnt Cheese Press PROJECT: This logo was designed for an independent publishing house focussing on cookbooks. The sandwich image is representative of the owner's first published cookbook, The Ultimate Panini Press Cookbook, as well as the direction she wanted to take the press: easy recipes for busy families. The logo-lockup is flexible in shape and color for a variety of uses including book spines and back covers, websites, and social media.

SITTE, LLC PROJECT: This logo was designed for a start-up furniture store. I created a tagline to clarify services provided by the client (Modern Design for Humankind), and a cohesive URL (sittemodern.com). The logo was created to be versatile; full color for applications on white, and single color for a letterpress look. This logo was also created with many layout choices; just the icon, full logo lockup including the tagline, and icon with the wordmark.

Benz and Change PROJECT: This logo was designed for artist, Dave Benz, to use on his business card. Benz and Chang is a brand he created to be the face of his work. His paintings are created with walnut ink on paper, and often incorporate vintage frames. He is fascinated with old photos—especially ones from the victorian era. I played with his inspiration and came up with a label style logo-lockup with a victorian (in font choice and layout) flare in brown (to play on his media choice).

INTERROBANG COLLECTIVE

PROJECT:
Created the logo for Interrobang Collective—my company that provides publishing services to authors and publishers. The interrobang is an antiquated punctuation mark combining an exclamation point and a question mark. I took a straight forward approach because I wanted to help bring it back into the public mind. I illustrated a unique version for the icon and put it in a bold circle that can be distressed or otherwise altered for a variety of applications.
